This website provides important information for customers who bought a card security product through Affinion International Limited (AI), or through their bank or card issuer.
A scheme of arrangement (‘the scheme’) has been proposed because AI has been in voluntary discussions with its Regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), about one historical feature of the card security product. You can find further information here .
In April and May this year we sent letters to all customers who are eligible to take part in the scheme and invited them to vote on whether they are in favour of the scheme as a process to review claims and pay compensation to those customers who are entitled to receive it.
The meeting of the scheme creditors was held on 30 June 2015. The scheme was successfully approved by eligible customers. Votes were cast by 98.94% of those eligible to vote and, of those who voted, 98.88% of votes were in favour of the scheme.
The High Court sanctioned the scheme on 9 July 2015. The scheme became effective on 17 August 2015 when the court order sanctioning the scheme was filed at Companies House. The scheme is now the process by which claims will be assessed and, where appropriate, compensation paid to eligible customers.
Between 18 August 2015 and 14 September 2015 we will send letters to all customers who are eligible to take part in the scheme and invite them to claim compensation if they wish to do so. If you have not received a letter please see information here . Please note that if customers wish to claim compensation they must do so by returning an original completed claim form (not a photocopy), to be received by us by 18 March 2016. You can find further information on how to claim here .
If you submit a compensation claim form seeking compensation before 18 March 2016, and you currently have a card security product, you will automatically cancel your product. You (and anyone else covered by the product) will lose the benefits it provides. You can find further information on the product here .
